So, when is the right time to start email marketing?
The time is now. If you need to do research first, do your research but set a date when you will start email marketing for the long-term benefit of your online coaching business.
When launching an online coaching business, one of your top priorities should be building and nurturing an email list.
What goes into creating an email list?
- Create a lead magnet. A lead magnet is a free product or service you offer in exchange for an email address. People interested in what you offer sign-up in order to receive the free product or service. The lead magnet acts as an incentive for your potential clients to give you their email addresses. You have to choose the topic of your lead magnet carefully so that it aligns with your brand and the services or products you offer. Your lead magnet captures quality target leads. A lead magnet can be a PDF file, audio file, video, quiz, and such.
- Choose and set up an account with an email service provider (ESP). Email service providers allow you to set up a landing page that gives the opportunity for people interested in your free product and services to sign in. The landing page is a page that people land on when they click the link you provide. The page contains an opt-in form. You then set up an email sequence in the ESP that automatically sends emails once people sign in. The first email should contain the free product or service you promised to your interested audience.
- Write up emails to welcome your subscribers and automate them. It is important to have a welcome email sequence for all new subscribers. This gives you a chance to introduce yourself and your products or services, and start building relationships with your new subscribers.
- Nurture your subscribers with consistent valuable content. After welcoming your new subscribers, you have to nurture them. Send out regular emails with useful information. Remind them how they can work with you, share new information, and link back to your website, blog, or products and services page. Do not allow your list to grow cold. It takes effort to maintain a healthy email list. Just as you create content to share on other platforms, be sure to create consistent content for your email subscribers.
