Start building and nurturing your email list as early as possible and learn as you go. Sending consistent valuable content to your email list is very important. You do not have to wait until you have a big list. Start with what you have and start building relationships.
Here are some tips:
- Be consistent – Set goals and see to it that you keep them. Know how often you want to send out emails to your list and stick to that consistently.
- Be clear about your message. This starts with having a well-defined niche. When you know who your target audience is and what you help them with, you will be able to narrow down and provide a specific yet detailed message to your subscribers.
- Have a welcome sequence for all new subscribers. This helps you create a good first impression and have a solid basis on which your brand is rooted.
- Be polite and respectful.
- Follow through with the promises you make.
- Include links in your emails. Link back your subscribers to the valuable resources you have, to your website, products or services page, or to your social media.
- Engage with your subscribers, ask questions, and request feedback.
- Consider the subject line of your emails and choose wisely.
- Proofread your emails before sending them.
- Segment and personalize your emails.
- Use the opt-in method to grow your email list. Never buy a list.
- Make it easy for people to unsubscribe.
